Playing career

He began playing for the Francheville Soccer Club, where he had a major impact from 1998 to 2003, where in 2000 he was named the Mauricie male athlete of the year. In 2004 he played with the Trois-Rivières Sélect, where in 2006, he helped the Sélect de Trois-Rivières to win the LSEQ championship and the bronze medal at the Canadian championship.

Boivin was resigned for the 2008 season on February 6, 2008. Throughout the season Boivin helped the Attak claim the club's first National Division title, and reached the final of the CSL Cup
