The Frankfurter Wachensturm (German: charge of the Frankfurt guard house) on April 3rd 1833 was a failed attempt to start a revolution in Germany.

 in order to gain control over the treasure of the German Confederation

 to start a revolution in all German states. It was not successful because it was betrayed to the police, so that it was easy to overcome the attackers.

After the failed attack, at least 7 of those involved, Gustav Körner, George Bunsen, Gustav Bunsen, Henry Abend, Theodore Engleman, and Adolph Berchelman fled to Belleville, Illinois
