focal.ie is a lexicographical website with the aim of creating a comprehensive database for Irish Language
terminology.
Funded by the European Union and Foras na Gaeilge
, it was developed by Fiontar (an inter-disciplinary school in DCU
which conducts teaching and research activities through Irish) in collaboration with a similar project being undertaken by the University of Wales, Lampeter, geriadur.net. Currently, the focal.ie database contains over 250,000 terms, which can be searched through Irish and English.
