Format

Two teams of two had to trash eight rooms in two rounds (four rooms each round) to find hidden objects to gain points.

In it's original format, the teams took turns searching the first four rooms (two rooms for each team), they had 30 seconds to find the hidden object and score 25 points. Then they went over to a garage to find four answers to four questions behind eight numbers to win more rooms to raid. Each correct answer found & hidden object found was worth double or 50 points. Later shows had the answer searching game aka "Find & Keep" be played in both rounds before the room searches, with the answers in round one worth 25 points. The final series allowed the team to have to find tools in a pit of tar to win more rooms to raid. When the show was revived in 2006, "Find & Keep", the answer finding game was revived too.

The programme was pretty hectic because the rooms the contestants trashed had streamers, confetti and Silly String raining from the ceiling as they raided the rooms.

The team with the most points won the right to go on a "Super Search" for a star prize.

Jeremy's Joker

In the Buchanan series, some rooms (usually the Fantasy Room) had Jeremy's Joker on them. If the team found the object, they would win a holiday. This was named after Jeremy Stockwell, the in voice announcer for the early Finders Keepers series.

Super Search

The winning team got to do the super search. They had to raid all 8 rooms in 4 minutes (3 minutes in the TVS and Revival versions) to get a super prize. The more rooms raided, the better the prize.
