purchased a veterinarian clinic in Fall Creek, which was converted into April Base Studios, a recording studio. The band's self-titled album was recorded in the studio, which was built partly over a now defunct indoor swimming pool. Vernon's reason for recording in Fall Creek was that "[it's] been a wonderful freedom, working in a place we built. It's also only three miles from the house I grew up in, and just ten minutes from the bar where my parents met."
