History

The club was founded as Ikast FS Håndboldafdeling on 20 June 1970 as a merger of the handball departments of Ikast DUI and Ikast Skytte Gymnastik Forening. Their breakthrough came in 1991 when they won the Danish Cup and reached the top division, Dame Håndbold Ligaen

At the beginning of November 2008, it was announced that the professional division of Ikast-Brande EH had been taken over by football club FC Midtjylland
