History of construction

In August 2009, 54.7 km (34 mi) of the expressway was completed. The existing sections are:

S8 in Warsaw

S8 is going to run through Warsaw and be part of its network of bypass roads. As of 2009, two sections were under construction in Warsaw. The first runs from Konotopa (junction with A2

) to Powązkowska street and is 10.1 km (6.3 mi) long. Construction started in 2008 and was finished in December 2010. The second section runs from Modlińska to Marki and is 7.1 km (4.4 mi) long. Its construction started in 2008 and should be finished in 2012.
