, where he made his name as a right winger. Although Evanilson played in Dortmund up to 2005, his contractual situation was somewhat more complex. In 2001, his compatriot Marcio Amoroso
moved from Parma F.C.
to Dortmund for 25 million euro; in return, Evanilson was sold to Parma for 17.5 million euro, for accounting reasons. Dortmund then paid an annual rent of 250,000 euro for Evanílson. In 2003, a contractual clause was triggered which forced Dortmund to buy Evanílson back for €15m.
On 24 April 2005, Evanílson's contract was prematurely terminated, on the grounds of serious injuries he had suffered (including cruciate ligaments). He moved back to Atlético-MG
in Brazil. He signed a two-year contract, which was terminated due to lack of salary payments (and subsequent court action). After this, his contract was dissolved and Evanilson moved to 1. FC Köln
, signing a contract until the end of season, which was not extended. He then moved to Atlético Mineiro, then Vitória
