Evan Greenberg is an American
business executive. He is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zurich
based insurance company ACE Limited.
He is the son of the former AIG
CEO Maurice R. Greenberg
. His father currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Starr International Company Inc., Chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr & Co., Inc. (C.V. Starr) and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Starr International USA, Inc. (Starr International USA). C.V. Starr and Starr International USA are collectively known as Starr Companies. Mr. Greenberg is the younger brother of Marsh & McLennan

Evan Greenberg attended New York University

(but did not graduate from both) before joining AIG in 1975. He worked under his father at AIG for 25 years. He was considered to be the heir apparent to take over as CEO, but left the company in 2000 and joined ACE in November 2001 as its vice chairman. He became the CEO of ACE in 2004. In the 2008 financial crisis, he was among the CEOs refusing to take part in a tax-payer funded bailout.
