Engage Mutual Assurance

Engage Mutual Assurance formed in 1980 as Homeowners Friendly Society and, after a rebrand in 2005, is now known under its new trading name.

Products and services

The society provides a range of products like over 50s life insurance, as well as health cash plans, tax exempt savings plans and insurance bonds.
Engage Mutual Assurance also offers a funeral funding option with their over 50s plan in partnership with the co-operative funeralcare and also care advice provided by care experts, Grace Consulting.
Engage Mutual Assurance was a provided of the Child Trust Fund. Following the government changes to the Child Trust Fund in 2010, Engage Mutual now continues to manage its existing accounts.

Tax Exempt Plans

As a Friendly Society, Engage Mutual Assurance is able to provide Tax Exempt savings plans to take advantage of the allowance set by the government.

Acquisitions and Partnerships

The society has made a number of acquisitions and has established partnerships over the years, including the acquisition of healthcare provider PHSA and part of the long term insurance business of Ecclesiastical Life Limited in 2010.
Partnerships with Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank , and a number of independent financial adviser networks, provide additional sales channels for Engage Mutual Assurance’s guaranteed over 50s life cover and tax exempt savings products.

Unclaimed funds

One of the other areas in which Engage Mutual is active in reuniting customers or their beneficiaries with unclaimed money held by the society .

of the UK Engage Super League and has supported a number of initiatives connected with the sport.
This includes sponsorship of the Steve Prescott Foundation which raises funds for one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, The Christie, as well as Try Assist, the rugby league benevolent fund which helps seriously injured players.
The group has also been associated with Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate, a charity which helps improve the lives of local people living with terminal illness, for over 15 years .
