Edwin C. May earned his Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburg in 1968, his discipline being Low Energy, Experimental Nuclear Physics. His interests turned inclusively towards the research of parapsychological phenomena, and in 1975 he joined with SRI International and participated in work sponsored by the United States government. By 1985 he was directing the program, and by 1991 he moved on to further government-sponsored parapsychology work with Science Applications International Corporation. His involvement with STAR GATE

was brought to closure in 1995 by the US Government, and finally declassified in 1989. This development saw Dr. Edwin C. May publishing the results and theories of his work, and this production of peer-reviewable materials continues currently at the website of Laboratories for Fundamental Research, where he is Executive Director. His international reputation for quality and commitment to his field is significant even though parapsychology is commonly treated as anomalous to normal science.

His technical expertise is well respected, and he has given presentations at the famous World War II site Bletchley Park

project administration and planning, and technical research. His position currently as the Executive Director of the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory, within the Laboratories for Fundamental Research, has seen great success since its origins in 1996, as can be verified by a quick glance or more careful attention to their website. He has worked with physiological biofeedback, is fluent in various computer languages, and is expert in nuclear studies. He has authored and co-authored many papers, reports, proposals and presentations throughout his colorful career. He was given the Outstanding Achievement Award in 1996 by the Parapsychological Association, which is an affiliate member of the American Association for the Advancement of
Science. This was for his excellence in research and his many superlative contributions. The Association again presented him an award in 2007, this time for Outstanding Career Achievement. He was President of The Parapsychological Association in 1997 and has held other positions with its Board of Directors.
