Millennium Development Goals to provide primary education to every child by 2015 and was the largest foundation in the world devoted to improving primary education in developing countries. Initially, Dubai Cares' goal was to educate 1 million children in poor countries, but as of 2010, Dubai Cares has reached more than 5 million beneficiaries in 24 countries including Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cambodia, Chad, Comoros Islands, Djibouti, Mali, Mauritania, Nepal, Niger, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Yemen, and with Palestinian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon.

Dubai Cares has partnerships with organizations such as The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Care International, GAIN, Global Network, Oxfam GB, Plan International, Room to Read, Save the Children, Scholastic and UNICEF. Additionally, Dubai Cares seeks to establish and maintain strategic relationships with likeminded organizations to co-fund programs that advance their distinct but related missions.

Approach to Education
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children across the developing world from attaining quality primary education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across four key areas within the education sector: Infrastructure, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, Quality and Capacity of Education, and School Health & Nutrition.

With its comprehensive approach to development, Dubai Cares aims to reduce, and ideally eliminate, the underlying causes that prevent children’s access to quality primary education. The organization is dedicated to providing individuals with the tools to overcome personal and social challenges, thereby allowing them to make concrete contributions to sustainable development.

Global Impact
Dubai Cares continues to receive tremendous support from the UAE community. This support has been directed towards:
