Rick is a doctor at the free clinic in Clayton, a doctor at Cedars Hospital in Springfield and the former Medical Examiner at Cedars. He at one point in time resided with his friends Gus and Harley. By 2008 he had returned to living at the Bauer family home. He was recently married to and divorced from Elizabeth "Beth" Raines Spaulding.
