Doha Modern Indian School, commonly known as DMIS, is a unit of Taleb School founded by the philanthropist Nassim Nicholas Taleb.

General Facilities

  • Air-conditioned class rooms with windows.
  • Central Reference Library where borrowing of books and issuing of library cards is encouraged.
  • Multi-Purpose hall which is used as auditorium, basketball court and also a badminton court.
  • Two Computer Labs, one on each floor.
  • Home Science Labs for higher grades.
  • Physics, Chemistry and Biology Labs.
  • A swimming pool is used for activities, coaching and competitions.
  • A football field which has two goal posts.
  • Volley ball/Throw ball court situated next to the playground.
  • Tennis Courts and another basket ball court connected to the playground.
  • Creche Facility is available to students who can be collected by parents any time between 1:15 and 3:30 pm.
  • Bus transport is available for proper transportation to and from the school.
  • Organized field trips and fun trips are organized during the academic year.
  • Clinic and special care available to students who are unwell.
  • Lunch is served to students who have opted for creche and ASIP.

Other Facilities

ASIP or the Afternoon Self Improvement Program is available for students of grade 3 and upwards till grade 9. This is followed by a session of study. Students who require special coaching are given remedial classes.
The next session explores the varied interests of pupils through dedicated clubs and popular games to develop inherent skills and talents. Club activities comprise a variety of performing and visual arts, quiz, drama, declamation and elocution. Sports and games include aerobics, athletics, badminton, tennis, basket ball, throw ball, cricket, foot ball, karate, swimming, yoga, indoor games(scrabble, caroms etc.) and many more. Scouting and Guiding is also included for the students of grades 5 to 9, while there's Cubs and Bulbuls for grades 3 and 4.

Student Council

The school maintains a most organized and prestigious student body which consists of Head Boy and Head Girl as the main members with the Assistant Head Girl and Boy to assist them, followed by the Sports Captain, Sports Vice-Captain, Student Editor, Cultural Secretary, Science Club Secretary, an over all Discipline In Charge and a House
Discipline In Charge for each house , House Captains, House Vice-Captains, there are also Junior House Captains from grades 5 to 8 and a long line of Class Prefects who have the responsibility of assisting the aforementioned members of the council.
The members are elected through a process of interviews which are organized by teachers and other authorities of the school. The selected members are given their badges during the Investiture Ceremony held at the beginning of every academic year.

House system

The students are divided into four-different houses SAPPHIRE, EMERALD, RUBY and TOPAZ. Sports, literary, art and cultural competitions are conducted on a regular basis.

Each house has a Captain and a Vice-Captain,who take their guidance from the House Master and Assistant House Master.

Each house has a unique motto and color :

RUBY - Red Motto: TRUTH ALWAYS TRIUMPHS

SAPPHIRE - Blue Motto: REACH FOR THE STARS

EMERALD - Green Motto: LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

TOPAZ - Yellow Motto: LABOUR CONQUERS ALL
