Within a short span of time the school has distinguished itself in the field of education because of grand success of its students in board examinations, competitive examinations like IITJEE as well as in the various cultural and sports activities. The name of its first Principal was Dr M S Tyagi, who nurtured the school and took it to great heights. The current principal of the school is Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, under whom the school has performed very well in the past few years.
The school motto is Service Before Self.
Library

The school has library facilities in both the buildings of the school. This facility is available to all bonafide students of the school during the school hours. All classes from class I onwards are provided with at least one library period per week. The Library has an open shelf system. Students are not allowed to bring their personal books in the library. Students are allowed to borrow books on their own library cards only.
Computer Center:
There are well-equipped and Hi-Tech computer lab in both the wings of the school. In the senior school all computers are interconnected with LAN and WLAN with latest softwares installed. Computer education is provided from class I onwards.
Internet & E-mail :
High speed (Broadband) Internet and email facilities are also available in the school. All Students of classes VI to XII have access to these facilities.
IVRS:
IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System ) is another facility which enables parents to know about their wards, on automated telephone system.

To enhance the learning ability and skills with hands on material, the school has a number of laboratory systems such as : Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab, Language Lab, Quiz Lab, Maths Lab, Audio - visual Hall, Social Science Lab, Photography Lab, Eco Club etc.
Games
& Sports :
The sprawling campus includes a full-sized playground witF football field, Cricket pitches for net practices, Volleyball courts, Basket-ball courts, kho-kho and kabaddi courts as also sand-pits, swing, slides and see-saws for the primary students. A state-of-art gymnasium for work-outs and exercises; Table Tennis, Badminton and Carrom are some of other games that absorb the interest of the students.
Transport

The school has its own buses. To meet the demands further, there are comfortable, hired buses. All buses run on the specified routes only.
Clinic :
There are sick rooms in both the wings of the school. A trained nurse is appointed to attend to sick children as also to provide first aid in case of an emergency. The annual medical checkup of the students is done in the clinic and a record is maintained on the advice of the doctor. The parents concerned are informed if any child needs special attention.

The school students have got all the top ranks in IITJEE for the school to be proud. "Prasoon Jha" one of the school's alumni, secured AIR- 1, in the IITJEE. Every year the school churns out the maximum number of IITians in Jharkhand.
Delhi Public School, Bokaro Steel City, besides being conscious of its role as a micro society, is also aware of the fact that it is an inherent and indispensable part of the macro society - the community beyond its campus. A long cherished desire of Principal, Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, propelled by her determination and devotion materialized into reality on 2nd July 2001, when Deepansh Shiksha Kendra took its firm first step to wipe out poverty - illiteracy and has emerged a crusader of literacy and a messenger of knowledge.
Koshish Vocational Center:
Koshish vocational Center was initiated with the aim to enable mothers of students of Deepansh to learn skills that would help them earn their livelihood and in the short span of time it has shown that the school is taking steps in the right direction however humble, to enhance the quality of living of the marginalized section of society. The school has a good number of sewing machines and a professional staff to teach them the skills of designing and tailoring. The classes are being conducted regularly and the women will soon graduate with a sewing course certificate.

Regardless of the fact that dipsites are good at academic excellence and extra cirriculars , the success of its students at engineering competitions ,specially the highly competiive and acclaimed IITJEE and AIEEE has been outstanding.
