The campus

Located in Biratnagar, the school is surrounded by hamlets and wheat fields. The school has a natural, pollution-free environment.

The size of the campus is approx 5,10,000 sq. ft. with the first phase being 50,000 sq. ft. for 800 students. Hostel and teacher’s quarters will be added. In the next phase, 45,000 sq. ft. for further 800 students will be added.

Facilities

The school has a multimedia centre, which houses the library and the computer labs. The library contains reference books and encyclopedias; it subscribes to major Indian and international publications. The computer labs are open to all students and teachers; the School ensures uninterrupted internet connectivity.

The school has physics, chemistry and biology labs, and mathematics and language labs.

Academic programmes

The school is co-educational, open to both boys and girls from Pre-Nursery to Class VIIIth, with classes from IXth onwards to be added soon. The medium of instruction is English and the students are taught Hindi and foreign languages such as French.

Scholarships and awards

The school follows both CBSE and Nepal Board.

International and national exchange program are arranged for both students and teachers, allowing them exposure to life and work in diverse surroundings. Ccounseling is given to students regarding higher studies and career opportunities abroad. There is a regular system of reporting on students’ progress throughout the year. Partial Scholarships are awarded to deserving candidates whose parents may need financial support. Internal awards are available for achievements.

Beyond the classroom

The school offers training in many artistic disciplines including vocal and instrumental music, theatre, mime and dance, art and design, drawing, painting, batik, tie and dye, photography, sculpture making, wood-work and computer aided design.

There are studios, a music room, and a dance room in the Creative and Performing Arts Centre. An auditorian is planned for drama, music and dance performances. Students are encouraged to show their work in exhibitions and become accustomed to public performance, both to demonstrate their skills and increase their self-confidence.

Clubs, societies and workshops run cocurricular activities such as horse riding, art, electronics, astronomy, debating, elocution, story-telling, quiz, calligraphy, yoga and aerobics.

Career counselling talks and workshops help the students to plan their future with an understanding of the profession which they may wish to choose. Leadership skills are developed through the students’ prefectorial committee and the menu committee.
