It is one of very few Feeder songs that contains profanity; "Taste the bullshit on a plate/We just piss our lives away...", the promo CD for radio play blurred the words out making them hard to recognise. The lyrics refer to an employee doing the same menial daily tasks, and wanting to get away from it all. Grant once said that the distored vocal emulates that of a tannoy in a supermarket.
