In the summer of 2003 David & Wilma Catherwood were guests at the Star Lake music camp in the USA. In addition to Band & Vocal music published by The Salvation Army various choral music is widely available in the USA published by Warner Bros., Alfred Publishing Co., and Shawnee Press amongst others.

Bands that have recorded David Catherwood's music include The New York Staff band, Williams Fairey Band, the ISB and the Canadian, Chicago and Amsterdam Staff bands. Various soloists who have featured Catherwood's solos on their CDs include cornet virtuosi David Daws, Roger Webster, Philip Smith and Gordon Ward and the two euphonium players Derick Kane and Steven Mead.

David Catherwood is married to Wilma and they are soldiers at the Belfast Temple corps of The Salvation Army where David plays in the band. They have one daughter, Tess.
