There are 3 grades of the Order of Nila Utama:
  • the First Class, consisting of the Badge and the Star of the Order
    • the Badge is to be worn on the right hip from a sash passing over the left shoulder and under the right arm, and the Star is to be worn on the left side of the outer garment
  • the Second Class, consisting of the Badge and the Star of the Order
    • the Badge is to be worn suspended round the neck from a ribbon, and the Star is to be worn on the left side of the outer garment
  • the Third Class, consisting of the Badge of the Order
    • the Badge is to be worn suspended round the neck from a ribbon.

  • Badge
    • The Badge of the Order of Nila Utama consists, on the obverse side, of a star in white enamel bordered with gold. In the centre of the Badge is a medallion of red and gold enamel with a crescent and 5 stars encircled by the inscription "ORDER OF NILA UTAMA" in gold letters. There are 2 laurel wreath

    • The Star of the Order of Nila Utama is in chipped silver and consists, on the obverse side, of an inner white enamelled star bordered with gold. In the centre of the Star is a medallion of red enamel with a crescent and 5 stars encircled by the inscription "ORDER OF NILA UTAMA" in gold letters.
    • The reverse side of the Star is plain.
  • The sash and the neck ribbon of the Order of Nila Utama are red with a white centre band and a grey stripe to each side.
