 along with his fellow band members. He also penned three of his own solo tracks on the first three McFly albums. He has also produced tracks for McFly and other musicians; for example, he produced their song Only The Strong Survive from their fourth studio album "Radio:ACTIVE" as well as his band's cover of Rihanna's "Umbrella". He has also produced countless demos for his band, alongside his bandmate Tom Fletcher. Jones also takes the role of lead guitarist in most performances, with Fletcher acting as rhythm guitar, and can be seen performing solos in songs such as That Girl, I Wanna Hold You, Everybody Knows & Transylvania.
As a side project, Jones has also been working on remixes for his band's songs as well as other songs. Songs such as Party Girl, Nowhere Left To Run and Take Me There have all been remixed under the name Danny Jones. Some remixes can be found as b-sides on singles released from the album Above The Noise. Jones has also been seen at many concert afterparties as a DJ.

Jones has appeared alongside his McFly bandmates in numerous TV shows. In January 2005, they guest-starred in an episode of the long-running British drama series Casualty
