Dallas Crane started in 1996 with Dave Larkin and Pete Satchell on guitars and vocals, Shan Vanderwert on drums and Chris Brodie on bass.

Pat Bourke replaced Chris Brodie on bass on 2001.

In 2003, the band embarked on the "Dan Does Dallas Tour" with fellow Australian bands Dan Brodie and the Broken Arrows and Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males. The band then started its own tour supporting singles "No Through Road" and "Ladybird", which both received airplay on Triple J. The band further built its live reputations through performances at the Homebake

In August 2006 the band commenced a tour down the east coast of Australia to coincide with the album launch and the performance at Brisbane's "The Zoo" has received positive reviews in local independent media and reaffirmed the band's popularity as a renowned live act. The band ran a more comprehensive tour during September, and are set to tour the UK for the first time at the end of the year.
