Cyclic neutropenia (or cyclical neutropenia) is a form of neutropenia
Neutropenia
Neutropenia , from Latin language prefix neutro- and Greek language suffix -pe??a is a Hematology disorder characterized by an abnormally low number of a type of white blood cell called a neutrophil.... which tends to occur every three weeks and lasting three to six days at a time due to changing rates of cell production by the bone marrow.
It is often present among several members of the same family. Treatment includes G-CSF and usually improves after puberty.
Cyclic neutropenia is the result of autosomal dominantly inherited mutations in ELA2, the gene encoding neutrophil elastase.
