Custódio played just eight games for Dynamo in the remainder of the year. He was dropped from the first team before the 2008 season, and appeared scarcely throughout his stint with the reserves, not contributing with a goal or assist. After unsuccessful attempts to sell him, Dynamo finally released him on a free transfer in December 2008. His signing was later labelled "a mistake" by Dynamo manager Andrei Kobelev, who criticized Custódio for slowing down the tempo of the game and his overally poor attacking display.
