. The population was 2,493 at the 2010 census. Many master-planned communities have been built in Colonial Pine Hills and the area is considered one of the most affluent places to live in Pennington County.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 32.4% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 26.9% from 45 to 64, and 6.1% who were 65 years of age or older.
