With the sale of Knowledge Adventure to an independent organisation, Vivendi Universal's Interactive Publishing division had a European company through which they developed educational software but no label for it. They subsequently sold Coktel Vision to France-based Mindscape, where it exists today developing titles such as Adibou pretty much exclusively in French.

, Joël Champagne's I.C.E. Multimédia released the Coktel Vision releases from 1998 to 2004, with Canadian actors instead of the original European ones. However, the Ste-Adèle-based company went bankrupt in November 2004, so the existing releases were sold to another Canadian company, PMD Logisoft.
