History

"The Daily Chugoku" was established on May 5, 1892 in Hiroshima and was founded by its editor, Saburo Yamamoto. The newspaper changed its name to "The Chugoku Shimbun", which translates to "Newspaper of the country which exists in the middle ", in 1908. The Chugoku Shimbun lost 113 employees and the building and equipment were completely destroyed by the A-Bomb on August 6, 1945. They had restarted publishing on August 9 by asking other newspapers help.
