The combined operation of CHOC (Orange) and CHOC (Mission) ranks as the 15th busiest children’s hospital in the country. It also prides itself as having one of the busiest pediatrics residency programs in the region.

In 2011, Children’s Hospital of Orange County has been ranked in eight specialties in U.S. News Media Group’s Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. Specifically, CHOC Children’s ranked 28th in cancer; 33rd in diabetes and endocrinology; 44th in gastroenterology; 39th in neonatology; 41st in neurology and neurosurgery; 45th in orthopedics; 43rd in pulmonology; and 48th in urology.

Radio Lollipop

In 2006, CHOC (a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital) teamed with G.O.T. Toyota to create an in-house radio station in order to provide comfort and entertainment for the hospital’s increasing number of extended stay patients. Known as Radio Lollipop, the program allows children at the hospital to experience the fun and excitement of being on the air within hospital walls, and creates a unique interrelationship between patients.
