Cebrene – also spelled Kebrene or Kevrin, and for a time called Alexandria and Antiochia in Troad – was an ancient city in the Troad, a region of northwest Anatolia
. The ruins of the city are situated on the Simois river, a left tributary of the Scamander
(now the Karamenderes) river, approximately 10 km south of Bayramiç
in Canakkale Province

, the city was taken by Antiochus I who renamed the city for himself. The city and its surrounding region, called Cebrenia, appear in Strabo
's Geography (Book XIII, ch. 33). Strabo reports that the inhabitants of Cebrene (the Cebreni) and those of nearby Scepsis were rivals, but that both cities' populations were transferred to Antigonia (later Alexandria Troas
) on the coast.
