    In recent years, average temperatures in the county seat of Carlton have ranged from a low of 1 °F (-17.2 °C) in January to a high of 80 °F (26.7 °C) in July, although a record low of -45 °F was recorded in January 1912 and a record high of 105 °F (40.6 °C) was recorded in July 1936. Average monthly precipitation ranged from 0.87 inches (2.2 cm) in February to 4.34 inches (11 cm) in September.
