The School is based at the Queen's Buildings complex of Cardiff University, on The Parade, Cardiff, close to the city centre. The School was first established in 1883. The school offers undergraduate (BSc) and postgraduate (PhD, MPhil, MSc) degrees in the subjects of Physics and Astronomy. The School has a total of about 260 [[undergraduate]] and 60 [[postgraduate]] [[students]]. The current Head of School is Professor [[Walter Gear]].
