 of Seattle, Washington, and operates with the philosophy of learning to “engage physically, mentally and emotionally in every aspect of life,” and that anyone can learn to box. The gym is home to Cappy’s Boxing Club, which runs a youth boxing program. The Club trains competitive amateur boxers and hosts Community Outreach Programs and Events in the surrounding neighborhood.

Cappy’s Boxing Gym is where American boxer and 2012 Olympic hopeful Queen Underwood entered into the sport in 2003. She began competing through Cappy’s Boxing Club three months after her first training session at the gym and continued to train there until July 2011. from Seattle Woman magazine While with the club and its coaches, Underwood qualified for the Pan American Games, the U.S. Olympic Trial Box-off and her 5th National Championship.

In 2010 Cappy’s Boxing Gym and its coach Cappy Kotz were featured in Seattle documentarian Gretchen Burger’s film short “Cover.”
