Geography

The area around Cachaço are surrounded by mountains with a few small and tiny farms around the parish. Brava's tallest mountain lies directly to the southeast, two mountaintops lie south of the settlement. The southeast are made up of treacherous rocks and small mountains with cliffs and several capes, one of them marking the southernmost point on the island. The Fontainhas

 mountain is directly to the northwest. Cachaço is linked with a road linking to Nova Sintra do Monte and the rest of the island, it is also the only paved road as well. Other poor roads including the road to the southernmost point in the island and in Cape Verde and another for Porta Aguada.

Economy

The living standards are one of the lowest in Cape Verde and income in the low to middle range, one time, there were no money until the late-20th century. The village is in the island's middle class. Much of the population are farmers and are based in agriculture where banana plantations, pineapple and other crops are common. However, much of the needy materials comes from the island capital and the diaspora. But for other needs, electricity, communications and appliances have yet to been made available as well as phone lines. A part of the necessities comes from the island capital.
