The Buckinghamshire Building Society was founded in 1907 in Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire, England. It is the 51st largest in the United Kingdom based on total assets of £139 million as at 31 December 2007. It is a member of the Building Societies Association.
Its logo is the Buckinghamshire swan. Over its first century, it established a strong local presence in the mortgage and savings market, having reached an asset base of £100m by 2003.
However, by January 2007, the society was forced to restrict the opening of new savings accounts.
