The school is also fitted with lifts, ramps, adjustable tables and equipment for the disabled pupils as well as a purpose built unit to support deaf pupils.

In January 2009, the school was rated as one of the worst 200 schools in the country for pupils achieving five A* to C GCSEs, including English and Maths.

The school also operates the International Baccalaureate qualification, however a recent Ofsted report concluded that a high proportion of students did not meet their target grades in 2007, and the attainment in the International Baccalaureate is below the international average.
