Founded in the early 1920s, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is the oldest of Boston College's seven graduate and professional schools. The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is made up of 16 departments and offers programs of study in the humanities, social, and natural sciences. GSAS offers the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Arts, and Master of Science.
