In 1952 Boris Korneev graduated from Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin in Viktor Oreshnikov workshop. He studied of Boris Fogel, Genrikh Pavlovsky, Semion Abugov, Andrey Mylnikov.
Since 1952 Boris Korneev has participated in Art Exhibitions. He painted portraits, genre pintings, landscapes, and still lifes. His personal exhibitions were in Leningrad
(1975), and Saint Petersburg
(1997).
Boris Korneev was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1954.
In years 1962–1973 Boris Korneev worked as Art teacher in Ilya Repin Institute, professor since (1972), Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1965).
