 compilation albums, which has become the best-selling hardcore compilation series of all time. It was released 3 years after Bonkers 7; it was long thought during the hiatus that "happy hardcore" as a music genre was "dead."
The most noticeable difference with this album was the change of cover design which led away from the cartoony style previously. However, this style was short lived as upon the release of Bonkers 12 the original characitures had been re-instated.

The third disc is an "Oldskool Best of Bonkers" mix consisting of songs from the first two compilations in the series.
