The project started back in April 1999 by the founding member John K who wrote, recorded and arranged all of the music, with the exception of the songs ‘Existenz’ and ‘Survival’ which were co-written by Chris Webb and Jamie Hunt respectively. John also programmed & arranged all drums for Biomechanical with the addition of drum breaks by ex-drummer Matt C.

Biomechanical started as a lifelong goal for singer/songwriter John K who pre-visualised the three albums Eight Moons

 from the very beginning. The three albums had one main story running through them.

After the release of 'Eight Moons' via Revolver Records the owner of Elitist Records Lee Barrett approached Biomechanical and after negotiations all parties agreed and signed with Earache/Elitist records on 3 September 2004.

On the eve of the release of the third album came the announcement that following an ultimatum by John.K. Webb, Collins, Matt.C and Hunt were to split from the project. New band members were quickly sourced and toured the UK, Greece and played in several major European festivals in 2007 - 2008.
