Development

The city of Bay Minette has gone through many changes over the years. Being in the north part of one of the fastest growing counties in Alabama, you would think that Bay Minette would be flurishing but it has not. In the last ten years the Bay Minette area has lost out on many different chances to catch up with the rest of the county. A development north of town that was to be know as Cooper Development was introduced in 2003 and finalized in 2004 and scraped in December of the same year.
A mall in the area was to be anchored by Lowes, Sam's Club or Wal*Mart, Home Depot, and Rave Movie theater. This development was disbanded in December 2004.
