Barði Jóhannsson

Bardi Johannsson is an Icelandic rock musician, film composer, writer, TV show host (of surrealist Icelandic TV show Konfekt), author, clothing designer, film director and more. He is mostly known for his work with Bang Gang
(who have released three albums to date, and are working on a fourth) and Lady & Bird
, a side project alongside French artist Keren Ann
.
Aside from these primary musical outlets, Bardi has been involved in a vast array of other audio-visual projects, most significantly he has written music for commercials (Emporio Armani, Yves Rocher, Citroën) and for the National Theater of Iceland & Centre Dramatique d'Orleans (Museum of the Sea by Marie Darrieussecq
); he has appeared at the Festival Aix En Provence
; and he co-produced and co-directed a short film called Red Death (which was shown at the Centre Pompidou, Paris).
Bardi has also been active in terms of writing scores for movies and documentaries, such as Haxan
(performed by the symphony Orchestra of Iceland) and Óskar Jónasson’s Reykjavik Rotterdam
(2009), which won Best Original Film Score at the Icelandic Edda Film awards for the best original film score and was nominated for the Scandinavian Film Music Awards at Giff Film Festival (2010)
Bardi has also co-written a fake documentary about himself called Who Is Bardi?. A compilation of Bardi's soundtrack and theater work will be released in 2010.
. Bardi and his friend Henrik Baldvin Björnsson started the band Bang Gang, initially making surf rock music. Two years later Bardi took the name for his own project.

Early life
Bardi started playing music at a young age, he studied the piano and guitar and had a track featured on a children's album. He met up with singer and musician Esther Talia Casey in his teens, who later became lead singer on the debut album of his most notorious band, Bang GangBang Gang
