Clara Barton, responsible for the founding of the

censusē of 2000, there were 28,205 people, 11,393 households, and 7,530 families residing in the county. The
population density was 12/kmē . There were 12,888 housing units at an average density of 6/kmē . The racial makeup of the county was 92.98%
