. It is composed of nine villages: Băişoara, Frăsinet, Moara de Pădure, Muntele Băişorii, Muntele Bocului, Muntele Cacovei, Muntele Filii, Muntele Săcelului and Săcel.

Since 2000, following important improvements of the local infrastructure it was officially declared a winter sports resort.
