He is one of the previous team-captains of his national team until he retired. The mark of his retirement in football took place on July 13, 2011 in Amman at the Amman International Stadium before a friendly match between Jordan and Saudi Arabia in preparation for the 2014 WC qualifications. Before he officially retired, Badran played the first 5 minutes of the match. As the referee of the match blew his whistle after the first 5 minutes to stop the match for Badran to leave the field, Badran gave his Jersey #20 to his teammate Hamza Dardour as well as the captain armband to Bashar Bani Yaseen
