based Dutch fashion designer.

Antoine Peters graduated cum laude at the Art Academy in Arnhem (NL) and then continued to study his Masters degree at the Fashion Institute, Arnhem. His graduation show took place at the fashionweek in Paris in march of 2006. Before launching his own design label Peters worked at Viktor & Rolf, and the Dutch Avantgarde magazine.

Antoine Peters is known for his A SWEATER FOR THE WORLD! project; a 2-person sweater with the goal to photograph as many 'different kinds of people' as possible inside itself. These big series of pictures with a weird fun collection of people shows ONE world with different kind of styles, ages, points of view, values, religions and imagination.

Antoine Peters shows his work at the Amsterdam International Fashionweek and has had exhibitions of his work in Amsterdam, New York, Paris and Arnhem. He presented collections with titles including 'I Will Never Wear A Sweater.', 'Le Petit Antoine.', 'Fat People Are Harder To Kidnap!' and 'To make An Elephant Out Of A Mosquito'

Peters' work is a search for playfulness, naivety, social criticism, open-mindedness, self-mockery and fantasy. More serious matter is brought in a light manner, with the arising of a new unbiased perspective as a result. He brings airyness by means of concept, but also in the clothing and installations itself. He loves to play with extremes and proportions in material, print, silhouette and concept. By mixing or even amalgamate these extremes he tries to create a renewing playful elegance; in which he especially is interested in the draping and direction of the material.

Recently he launched ANTOINE PETERS' SHIRTS which attempts to deal with the problems of commercial practicalities faced by many young designers.

Peters also initiates and participates in projects such as the KILLING FASHION installation/collection for the Dutch Fashion Biennial, and was the conceptual director and designer of 'dancecostumes' and the 'happy burka'. He is a guest teacher at the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design.

Antoine Peters is included in the "100 New Fashion Designers" book by Hywel Davies. The book is an international snapshot of the contemporary fashion and design scene and those individuals who play an integral role in it. Author Hywel Davies defines the new fashion generation and uncovers the world's best and most radical 100 new designers who each are fulfilling important individual roles as innovators in the industry.

Antoine's designes have been featured in magazines like Avantgarde, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Elegance, Elle-girl, Blend, Sis, AM magazine, CODE, No magazine, Celebrity, LinK, Glamcult, Columbus, TeD, Vice, Viva, Blend and more.
