Personal life

Relationships

Dick is openly bisexual. He once claimed that his straight friends often say, "C'mon, you know you're just gay," as do his gay fans.

From 1987 to 1989, he was dating famed lounge singer Jo-Anne Sparta (formerly Jo-Anne Silvers). Dick was head over heels for Jo-Anne as they lived together briefly with some of his friends. However, Jo-Anne's frequent drug induced swinger episodes lead to alleged sexual relations with over 7 men at a time, which angered Dick. Allegedly, Dick discovered his sexual preference of men at Jo-Anne's urging. They split amicably in 1989. Currently, Ms. Sparta resides in Easton, Maryland and is a director of the Preston Auto group in Preston, MD.

From 1986 to 1990, he was married to Ivone Kowalczyk, with whom he has a son, Lucas (b. 1988). He also has a son, Jacob (b. 1994), and a daughter, Meg (b. 1997), from his relationship with Lina Sved.

He never met his birth father as a child. In the 2000s, he began talking to his birth father over the phone as well as his biological half-sister.
