, approximately 20 kilometers outside the city center of Abu Dhabi city. The school facilities include a library, art rooms, computer labs, olypmic sized pool and 6 science labs. AISA also has gymnasiums, outdoor basketball courts and an adjoining soccer field.

Environment

Current enrollment is about 1200 students from Pre-Kindergarten to grade 12. The student body represents 77 nationalities, with about 50% coming from the Middle East North Africa region.

It is a member of the International Schools Athletics Conference (ISAC) as well.

Curriculum

The American International School in Abu Dhabi serves the needs of an international student body by offering an American school diploma program and the International Baccalaureate program. Students in Pre-Kindergarten to grade 5 follow the US Curriculum within the IB Primary Years Program (IBPYP). In grades 6-9, students continue to follow the American curriculum. High school students can choose between the US high school diploma, or the IB Diploma Program.

Sports

The American International School Abu Dhabi mascot is the Lion. AISA has had numerous achievements in the athletics department under the phenomenal work of 'Cindy'. AISA Lions play in numerous sports: basketball, volleyball, badminton, soccer, and softball (for the girls)supported by the Lion mascot. AISA also holds several eating competitions in special events such as the UAE National day and Christmas holidays. In these eating competitions, students participate in eating different variety of cultural foods. One of the highest and undefeated for as long as 3 years is known as Ahmad Abu-Hijleh. The AISA lions have had a great amount of success in basketball during the years of 2009 to 2010 and 2008 to 2009. The AISA Lions hosted a record of 28 wins and 3 losses during their 2008 - 2009 season and 20 consecutive wins and 0 losses during their 2009 - 2010 season. From 2008 to 2010 the AISA lions basketball team has been undefeated in the International Schools Athletic Conference (ISAC) Posting a records of:
