, the second album from after The New Girl in Town, which was released in 1985. When Selena was beginning to emerge as a star, A.B. III became a songwriter and producer. One of his first songs, "Dame Un Beso" became a moderate success. "Alpha" led Selena win for "Female Vocalist of the Year" at 1987 Hispanic Music Awards and was voted for "Female Vocalist of the Year" and "Performer of the Year" at the Tejano Music Awards.
