started. She was interested in becoming an artist from an early age and choose to study art when she attended Lindenwood College for Women in Missouri
and at Indiana University
. She also studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts
and lived in Paris
throughout the late 1950s and 1960s. She was briefly married to painter Paul Jenkins, the union lasted from 1964 to 1968.

and the Alice Baber Memorial Art Library in East Hampton, New York
