Albert Ernest Bowen was a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

Born in Henderson Creek, Idaho to David Bowen and Annie Shackleton, Bowen served a mission in Switzerland and Germany from 1902 to 1904.

Bowen received a law degree from the University of Chicago

. He was a lawyer in Logan, Utah

In 1902 Bowen married Aletha Reeder. They had two children. She died in 1906. In 1916 Bowen married Emma Lucy Gates.
