Most of the music was recorded in 1972, after Laine had joined Wings, but it apparently took some time for Wizard Records to be started. Also, although the album was issued in the US, copies are very scarce and it's probable that it was never officially released or was swiftly withdrawn after a short release.

Laine wrote and produced all the songs. On the front cover he has a Wings T-shirt, but he did perform some of these songs before joining Paul

 in the band. The Ahh... Laine Album was finished up in mid-1973 and released that year. It features neither Paul McCartney nor any of the other members of Wings. The album was given an official release on Reprise/Warner Bros. Records in 1973.
